Morning prayer · 20 October

When two or three gather

Three small stones placed close together in a circle on a tabletop, a single thread of smoke rising up from the middle where they meet, showing shared prayer lifting as one.

Almighty God, you hear your people when they pray to you with one heart, and you promise that when two or three gather in your name, you are there with them. This morning I’m adding my prayer to theirs. Answer my wishes and prayers, Lord, and theirs, in the way that’s best for us. Give us in this world the knowledge of your truth, and in the world to come, life that never ends. Amen.

For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them.
