Carry His word
into your day.

Before Instagram or TikTok opens, Mutter shows you the verse or prayer you chose for today. The moment you reach for your phone becomes a reminder to pray.

Before any of these open:

What makes it different

  1. It meets you where you already are.

No new habit to remember. The apps you open anyway become the reminder to pray.

  2. Your own words, drawn by hand.

The verses and prayers you choose, each with its own drawing, like this one. Not a random verse of the day.

  3. Completely free.

No ads, no purchases, no subscriptions. Nothing to unlock.

7:40am

You reach for Instagram before you've even got up. Instead, a short morning prayer is there, a new one every day. You pray it, tap Amen, and get on with your morning.

“Wisdom comes from you, Lord, and from your mouth come knowledge and understanding. Before today’s decisions, I ask for yours.”

On your lunch break you open TikTok. Psalm 5:3 comes first, the verse you picked for today.

App Guard

Turn scrolling into a reminder to pray.

Mutter is a free daily prayer app built on one simple idea: the moment you reach for a distracting app is a good moment to pray.

  1. Mutter's Today screen with two verses chosen for today, each with its drawing.

    Choose today's words

Pick one or two verses or prayers for today. Mutter draws each one.

  2. Pick the apps that distract you

Whatever pulls you in. You choose.

  3. Pray first, then scroll

Each time you open one, today's verse or prayer comes first. Say Amen and the app opens as normal.

App Guard uses Apple's Screen Time. Mutter never sees which apps you picked or how long you spend in them, and it never locks you out.

Psalm 23:5, and the drawing Mutter made for it
no two the same

Every verse and prayer, drawn.

Add a verse, a prayer, a promise or something you want to say over yourself. Mutter sketches each one in paper and ink, so you remember it as a picture as well as words.

  • On your home screen, in a widget with its drawing.
  • In gentle reminders, with an Amen button.

every word, then Amen

Pray it, or listen.

Open anything you've saved and tap Pray with it: the whole thing on one calm page, then Amen. Reading something longer? Turn on soft music.

Pray with it in Mutter: a drawing, the words in full, and Listen and Amen buttons.

Every word

The whole prayer or verse on one page, in big, clear type. Say Amen when you're done.

Listen

A calm, natural voice reads it to you, and the words light up as it goes.

Soft music

Quiet music under the voice, or while you read an article, a devotional, a hymn or a prayer. Tap the note to turn it on.

better together

Pray together.

Start a group with your family or friends and set a prayer for everyone to pray for a few days. You'll see how many are praying with you. Your own saved prayers stay private.

Questions

What does App Guard do?

You choose the apps that pull you in, like Instagram or TikTok. When you open one, Mutter shows you today's prayer first. Say Amen and the app opens as normal.

Is Mutter really free?

Yes. There are no ads, no purchases and no subscriptions. Everything in the app is free.

Can Mutter see which apps I use?

No. App Guard is built on Apple's Screen Time. Apple never tells Mutter which apps you chose or how long you spend in them.

Where do the drawings come from?

When you save a verse or prayer, Mutter sketches it in its own paper-and-ink style: sometimes an object, sometimes an animal, sometimes people. The words decide, so no two are the same.

Which Bible translation does it use?

The Read tab has the whole Berean Standard Bible, with highlights and study notes. You can save verses from any translation you like.

What do I need?

Any iPhone from the iPhone XS (2018) onwards, on iOS 17 or later. Mutter is free on the App Store.
